The Loss Of The Use Of An Arm Couldn’t Hold Him Back From Kickboxing Greatness
Leif Thobroe is an incredibly talented and bright young man with all of the ambition in the world. Unfortunately, like many of us, this drive and intelligence he has does not exempt him from tragedy. Just about two years ago, Thobroe lost all of the use of his right arm after he was tackled awkwardly in Rugby which injured his spine rendering his right arm paralyzed. His athletic career was over… or so it seemed.
It’s now two years later and Thobroe is about to become a taekwondo paralympian and it’s all thanks to kickboxing. If he gets selected to compete in London in October in the World Para Taekwondo Championships and has success he will compete in the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. This long road to glory from the ashes of a life changing freak accident began when he started using kickboxing as his own personal form of rehabilitation. He would train several days a week and gained a lot of skill in a short period. He then started training in taekwondo as well. And now, with a few developments pending, he might be about a year away from being selected to compete in the Olympics with the use of only one arm.
We will update this story as soon as additional developments occur. As for now, Thoebroe is training extremely hard while working on graduating business school and shortly starting his career.
