Heather Hardy: Harder Than You Are.
One of the toughest and most feared female fighters in the world, Heather Hardy, did not get to that reputation and an undefeated record via a road of ease. In fact, her journey to where she is right now was a journey of horror and multiple character tests. She was raped at the incredibly young age of only twelve years old and was left no choice but to raise her daughter as a single parent after the father abandoned them. But, through it all Hardy kept her head down and plowed through to become the ferocious fighter and champion she is today.
The multiple world title winner has never had any problem fighting her way through adversity en route to capturing her dreams.AS an amateur she started off with kickboxing and muay thai and quickly conquered both of those disciplines with ease. In the past five years, she has focused mainly on boxing while doing her best to incorporate some mixed martial arts into the grind as best she can.
Now she is 18-0 and is about to make her MMA debut with Invicta FC 21 with her very fitting nickname “The Heat.” It will be a real test for her and her fighting skills but she is up to the challenge as she has always been “To be in a position where I’m a successful female athlete — they think I’m strong, I’m tough, independent — I think it’s important for them to know where I came from and how hard I had to work to get here. Even though these shitty things happened, not only did I survive, but I’m thriving.” At thirty four years old the Brooklyn native is showing no signs of slowing down and we don’t expect her to any time soon.
